Huawei just beat the iPhone 14 with an important new feature

Just a week ago, we reported on how the iPhone 14 might be the first smartphone to offer satellite communications, but it turns out that’s not the case – because Huawei was just the first to get there with the Huawei Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro.

These two newly announced smartphones will allow both texts to be sent over China’s global BeiDou satellite network. It is a feature designed for emergencies, allowing you to contact emergency services or loved ones when mobile networks are unavailable, such as at times when they are most needed, such as in war zones or natural disasters.
